Such an unusual favia. This one originated from Mackay in Australia and to be frank was an absolute PITA to get acclimatised to aquarium conditions. We lost most of the main colony within a few weeks of arrival and a few security frags of it were all we had to grow these frags from over a year later. Here we present the first couple of frags of this coral, and perhaps the only ones that will be available for some time. Spidey sense tells me that this coral is going to special and has more pronounced colours to develop; perhaps placement is going to be key.
This favia took time to adjust to LED lighting, but it is now perfectly at one with our Red Sea ReefLED50s and should prove to be a hardy and fast-growing coral that will encrust over rocks in its immediate vicinity. Medium levels of light of no more than 200PAR and low to medium flow seem to work best with this quite unique coral.
