Psammocora is becoming rarer as it is not really imported, the best coming from Queensland, Australia where there are currently import restrictions.
We love Psammocora because it is perhaps the brightest of all corals, it's a flash of colour for your tank and is very easy to keep. When tank hardened (as these are) it takes really poor conditions for them to lose their colour.
Some people suggest they are SPS corals, we dispute that and have seen short sweeper tentacles from these corals. Given good conditions these corals encrust and once happy can form short branches (as the hulk psammo has done in the photo).
The Hulk Psammo is the brightest green (very hard to photo) and absolutely glows under blue light.
The Midas Psammo is bright gold/yellow with orange highlights.
We keep these corals under a range of lighting and flow but they will thrive under SPS conditions with high light and high flow.
The frags you purchase may not appear exactly as the photos show but are all from the same colony.
