Probably our most special (and prized) acropora in the farm with the most extreme colour of any acropora we have seen. We have only sold very limited numbers of frags of this acro to discerning collectors of 'special things'. When the coral was first introduced I was asked where the name came from. Here is what I wrote on Facebook:
Long story. It was a coral acquired many years ago from a tank breakdown. It grew well into a really lovely colony and due to problems a number of years ago we lost it. Luckily a small piece had been banked and a piece returned a couple of years later; when I first saw that frag my first reaction was 'OMFG', both in elation to see the coral again as well as the incredible colour. I commented that the frag looked like a cactus that you would see in the desert. To join all of this together: I used to live close to a country pub that I frequented; it was taken over by a pub company called 'The Cactus Pete Pub company'; so being a cactus type coral this clicked in my mind and the coral was henceforth known as 'Cactus Pete OMFG' ... makes sense?
